3 sets of wires going to porch light


can i send u a pic of it so u can see what im working with when i took the light down there was 2 whites going to light and one black but i didnt pay much att to them but ive got my power wires hooked back to the outside plugin now i just need help with hooking switch wires up to the power

so if i am understanding correct:
the black from my main power needs to be hooked to the white on the switch
the white from the main power needs to be hooked to the white on the fixture
the black from the switch needs to be hook to the black on the fixtures

Thanks Kbuz, I just found this info and finally wired up the porch light my wife has had in the closet for a few years.. Worked great. I had initially just wired all blacks together and all whites. Circuit breaker didn't like that! THANKS MAN.
