2ft Wall/Hallway Electrical Outlet Question??

Hi there,

I am finishing off a basement and adding a bedroom with bathroom and entry hallway. I know and understand the one outlet every 12ft, one outlet for hallways over 10ft, and one outlet for walls over 2ft rules. However, the entry hall has a cut out that is 2'3" x 5' for a table where we plan to put a lamp. Is it ok to put just one outlet on the 5' wall and not worry about the two side walls, or am i required to put outlets on the two side walls because they are over 2ft?? BTW one of the 2'3" walls is on the same wall as the doorway to the entry hall, if that makes any difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!
