250 meters run of electric cable?

ooops! I just re-measured the distance and it seems more like 360 meters of cable in total. So I assume that 2.5 diameter cable would still do the job for that distance? And I presume that an earth wire would also be required? Do you think it might be better (cheaper) to earth the antenna and equipment in situ by making a connection to the apparatus and driving a 1.5 meter copper earth pole into the ground next to the antenna, thus saving the expense of buying a 3 wire cable? Now I'm thinking of digging (phew!) maybe a 1 foot trench and burying the cable in one of those black plastic hoses, probably joining the sections of hose every 30 meters or so, so that the cable can be passed through easily. Does that sound feasible?
