bobo Member   Join Date: May 2005 Posts: 127	240v Cable Going To Ac Compresor hello, i have central ac in my house. the compressor is outside the house and has a cable running from a fuse box, on the side of the house, to the compressor. it is abot 5ft long. i noticed that some of the insulation of the cable is wore off, and u can see the metal sheething, and it is a bit rusted. should i replace this cable? bob

jwhite Member   Join Date: Mar 2006 Posts: 682	240v Cable Going To Ac Compresor What you are probablly seeing is the metal core of type LFMC. commonly called sealtite. Yes it needs to be put on your list of repairs.
