220 dryer plug connecting to tanning bed


Can you plug a tanning bed (230v 17 amp) to a 4 prong dryer plug

220 dryer plug connecting to tanning bed


You should install the proper outlet, wiring, and circuit breaker that the manufacturer recommends.

That way if there is a malfunction with the bed, the breaker will trip when it should.

What amperage circuit do they recommend in the instructions? What kind of plug does it have?

I would make sure the receptacle you use has GFCI protection unless the tanning bed has integrated protection.

Is the tanning bed 120/240 or 240 only?

The bulb life will be shortened if the voltage is listed for 230 according to some bed manufacturers.
