2 Gang Wall Plate with one switch and blank?
I searched, but I must be missing something. Do they even make this?
I've got an outlet in my living room that is now used for my TV / home theater stuff. I have a surge protector installed at the outlet.
There are three different switches in the same room which turn this outlet on / off.
They are all normal toggle switches.
Two of them reside in a 3 gang plate with two other toggle switches. The third switch is in a 2 gang plate with another switch.
I want to remove these 3 switches, wire them together, and then install a wall plate in each location which will cover this now removed switch but still have a spot for the remaining switches.
Does that make sense?
I've looked and looked but can't find anything like this. I can't be the first one to need this, I'm sure I'm just doing something wrong when looking.
Thanks for any help.
Your local Home Depot should have one or two things that would work.
I used Leviton modular wall plates, they come in snap-together sections so that you can build exactly the plate you need. I used one of these in my garage where I needed a two-gang plate with a switch on the left and blank on the right.
There are also switch filler plates that install in place of a switch and cover the hole in the existing plate, though I can't remember for sure if I saw them at Home Depot.
Thanks for the reply. I was able to find what I needed by digging through the Leviton Catalog....the modular plates you referred to will fill bill nicely.
