2 gang old box, made into 3 gang, off center??

please help....

what i want to do is this...

currently I have 2 switches in a 2 gang box. ok no big deal.
my plans are to add another switch and make it into a 3 gang, but not really a 3 gang. the old box on the left will be 2 gang, and the new work single box will be on the right to that. but i want to be able to use one big plate cover that has 3 slots for the switches. is this possible? seems like it will be off center and eventually i wont be able to put the plate on because the new single gange box on the right will be too much to the right. any ideas?

also i think it would be stupid looking if i left it with the 2 gang then about 5 inches to the right there would be a seperate switch box.. so my plans is to keep the exsisting 2 gang and add another new work right next to that to be able to use one big plate

You need a 3 gang box if you want to use a 3 gang faceplate

Buy a double switch & replace one of the single switches
Problem solved

great idea. now would they make a switch like that but one of them dimmable?

how hard would it be removing that 2 gang old box without damaging the sheetrock?

Hard to say
Is it nailed in ?
Metal with a plate across the face of the stud ?

This is a typical nail up box.
You could possibly take a hacksaw blade without the saw and carefully cut the nails and push the box down in the wall.

This is another style. Have never tried one of these the nail up is the most common.

If you only need one of the three to be a dimmer, shift things around so the "solo" switch is the dimmer.

They also make dual rocker switches, you may like the look of them better:
