1950-1955 Moffat Syncrochime Stove. Replace wiring

Hello All.

I have a little project that I am working on. I bought a centry home which came with this old stove. Its has one oven plus a warming oven/broiler, 4 burners which are all located on the left of the stove. Now it works fine, but two burners will not heat up. Upon futher inspection I found that mice had eaten through most of the cloth/paper wire covering.
Now I would like to replace the wiring in the stove just for the burners only if I can with new. Thw old wire is a cloth/paper covered stranded braided wire, now I would like to replace it with a solid copper core wire with some sort of heat protection. What gage# wire would you recomend for this project any help would be great, also open to any new idea's as well. Thanks for the help
