15A Extension lead to 10A

Hi
I have a caravan with 2x15A outlets
I have 2x 15A extensions leads but only 10A power points at home.

I am wondering what I could do to fix this problem.
I thought of grinding the earth lead on the 15A extension lead to fit in a 10A socket.
Would this work and what would be the side effects of this.

Thanks

Are you in Australia? Your terminology makes me think so.

What are these 15 amp plugs powering in the caravan? You could always change the plug to fit the regular 10 amp, but you risk blowing fuses/tripping safety breakers if you have a high power draw, which isn't a good thing.

The proper thing to do would be to have an electrician come and install the proper 15 amp power points.

Not sure how it works there but in the US any place that sells Caravans will have adaptor plugs with no wiring needed, just plug them in. As long as there both the same voltage.

Yes I am located in Australia

I have found some adapters for 15A to 10A so I think I will go ahead and buy them rather than doing a dodgy modification
