14/2 or 12/2 Wire?

Hi, which one would you use for a run to a 15 amp breaker?

darren 01-15-2011 06:02 PM

#14 is good 15A and #12 is good for 20A, so i would run #14.

If you do it for your own house why would you not do it for a customer? Is it because Pitt is losing?

First half! Second, If they were willing to pay the extra for 12-2 i would do it. Most people where i run my business don't wanna spend it if they don't have to. Always give them the offer tho!

-1 points for being a Pitt fan but thanks for the explanation. 12/2 is a you know what to run that's my only concern because I have to wire through a corner joist.

Plus if you ever decide to put something bigger on that circuit, you just have to change the breaker not the wire! We got 6, Do you? LOL

Makes absolutely NO sense.
WHY change the breaker at all??? Just use a 20A on #12 wire from the start. :whistling2:
