12V dimmers?

I just purchased some track lighting from HD. And these little boys are harsh. So I was going to purchase just a regular dimmer switch, until I was informed a dimmer switch wont work with a 12V transformer. I guess I need a electric magnetic switch. These things run from around 50 to 100 bucks. practically the same as the track lighting themselves. Anyone know where I can find practically priced ones or if I am SOL.
TIA
chris

12V dimmers?

I typically pay around $40-$50 for a Lutron Skylark electronic lo-vo dimmer, and around $35 -$40 for magnetic.

The fact that your whole set of track lighting was this much should tell you something.
You get what you pay for!
