Are you an old HVAC fart


Have you ever seen a residential stoker? I missed out on them but my first Journeyman worked on them and told all kinds of interesting stories about them.

Yes I did. Still a couple around here. Don't work on them myself.

I guess you guys have coal nearby? We have lots of it in Saskatchewan and some guys burn it in those outdoor woodstove units in rural areas. The rich people had stokers, the poor shmucks had to shovel it in by hand.

I was one of those poor smuck's kids. Shoveled a lot of coal when i was a kid.

Only 1 or 2 places deliver coal around here anymore.

I'll be 50 this year. Dad had a coal furnace installed at his place 2-3 years ago to avoid using the propane one.
