York Diamond 90 Furnace Smells

Help PLEASE!
I have a 10 or so year old York Diamond 90 L.P. Furnace.
It smells like burning dust or frying electric.
Otherwise works good.
This only happens very intermittently - but always occurs while
the burner is initially operating but before the blower fan starts.
As soon as the blower fan starts - the smell disappears.
It can go for weeks without doing this - then it will do it for 1-3
cycles - then a few weeks again with no smell.
The local York repair tech couldn't find anything wrong - did a
full maintenance cleaning - but it still happens.
Thank You for your help!
Tim

Did he test the run cap and amps on blower motor? That maybe it.

Your motor could be over heating and giving off a smell. It can be stalling before it comes up to speed.. But it sounds to me like the blower is slowly going bad.

Is there a lot of dust build up on the motor? If there is.... as the motor over heats the dust makes the smell worse. I would make sure the motor is vacuumed clean and a new filter put in place too. That may solve your problem.

I had seen the secondary heat exchanger crack causing metal smell when fan is blowing through it. Did he check for any rust around heat exchanger? He check for water coming from heat exchanger going down on the motor?
