XL80 Trane Furnace Fan won't turn on
I have an XL80 Trane Furance. The thermostat calls for heat, the draft fan starts, furnace ignites, but fan doesn't turn on. Replaced the upper limit switch, and control module, and still have the problem. Eventually the upper limit switch shuts everything down when too hot. Let it cool, turn the fan on constant and furnace fires and heats as it would nromally. HELP

is there 120 vac going to the motor.....what is the UF reading on the capacitor?

u gotta counterflo furnace. Your motor is probably shot..might be a capacitor too.
When was the last time u changed the filter. |
hey HVAC5646
If his fan is OK switched to constant run, are you thinking that the lower heating speed windings are the problem? Capacitor choice confuses me if the cooling speed is fine. I think I'd be first looking if the heating blower connection on the board is getting power as Harley suggested. |
