Xl 1800 cond fan motor water inside

Have friend with problem with fan motor burnt out, was replaced in march
Now out again, local tech says motor is fried and full of water. I checked with
Parts dept. Said there may be a plug which must be moved to top of motor to prevent this condition from occurring again. Went over there and took top off
Looked over the motor really well, couldn't find any plug top or bottom. Maybe this motor doesn't have this plug. Any way just wondered if anyone has ever heard of this type of problem?

Nope but I did have a fan coil relay that was welded shut (normally open) mysteriously fix itself overnight, last night.

One less recall for me!

Ventilation openings in shield and/or frame prevents drops of liquid from falling into motor within up to 15 degree angle from vertical.

I think he was talking about this. The outdoor fan motor is protected with a cover.

**Always kill the power ** Hot air rises, but heat will always move from higher to lower temperatures. ** Real man shoot in manual. ** If it ain't grounded, it ain't dead.
