Wrong Kind of Freeze...
My central air unit has been freezing up over the past few days. Not the typical freeze, this only last for 5-10 minutes or so, then everything returns to normal for 1 to 2 hours. I have had the HVAC men here twice. The first time they said the coil was dirty, which I'll agree, it was. They Cleaned it, which cost me $200. The unit seemed to be working fine, and blowing harder than ever might I add, but after about 2 hours. It froze up again. So I called them back out, they checked the blower motor, the capasitor to the blower motor, and everything checked out good. They checked the level of gas, and added roughly one fourth of a pound. This was $80, They left and about an hour later, it freezes up again. I am at a loss. I can't continue to fork out money. What is the problem?
Might I add, that the filter is brand new.
