Wiring of my two-zone system not working correctly
I am having issues with my heating system. I have attached a diagram. Here's what happens: When T-Stat for Zone 1 turns on, it starts the boiler, opens the damper and turns on the pump. (This is fine). When T-Stat for Zone 2 turns on, the boiler starts, the damper opens and BOTH pumps turn on. (Obviously I only want pump zone 2 to start). The way it is wired now, it applies 24 volts from T-Stat 2 to the exact same terminals that T-Stat 1 is connected to. So when that happens it is like T-Stat 1 turns on and thus starting the Zone 1 pump.
By looking at the diagram, could someone tell me or show me with another diagram how this system should be applied so that each zone works independently of each other but both start the boiler and open the damper. I am knowledgeable with electrical equipment, but not so knowledgable to know which exact terminals these should be connected to. PLEASE HELP. Thanks.

Wiring of my two-zone system not working correctly
How long has this system been in operation?
Why does it have two pumps? |

Wiring of my two-zone system not working correctly
System has been in operation for 3-4 years.
I would assume it has two pumps because there are two zones. I am obviously looking for the easiest solution, without having to do any major change to the system. I am assuming that there is some way to configure the wiring of the system. |

Can you post a photo of the system?
One motor can supply heat to more than one zone. The zone valves are what allows the heated water to go to that zone and heat that specific zone (area). If there are two zones and one zone valve is open and the other is closed then just the zone valve that is open will get heat. If both zone valves are open then both zones will get heat. |
