Why do you want to know? On what kind of equipment are you looking at? commercial refrigeration or residential?

Well. Residential is easier to answer. Sort of.

But before doing so.

Some commercial and industrial systems, have multiple fans, which are wired in a series parallel configuration between themselves.

Residential condenser fans are wired in series with the contactor and defrost if its a heat pump, and parallel to the compressor.
The indoor blower is wired in series to the control board, and parallel to the condenser unit.

Yep, research series and parallel circuits on the net or in some electrical textbooks. Here is a service info file from Lennox to study:http://tech.lennoxintl.com/PDFs/0521f.pdf
