Why won't the blower stop?

Hi all,
my heat pump starts and runs fine. When the inside temp reaches the set thermostat temp the blower is supposed to stop but it never does (unless I cut power off to the unit by hand). The heat flow stops but the blower continues to run. This is a goodman manufacturer heat pump. Any ideas anyone? What do I check? thanks all

Why won't the blower stop?

do you have the manual blower switch pulled out inside the furnace...This happened to me and I forgot to put it back to auto. Could also be a faulty switch.

Mine is inside the furnace on the top left...Its right in the box where you set the Temperature activation for High,Low,Safety temps on the blower unit.

Check to see if the wire connected to the G terminal on the thermostat and at the furnace is shorted to one of the other wires.

Also, post full model number of your unit.

Yes. And also make sure that the brown wire at the unit, is the fan control wire. there should be a wiring schematic on one of the panels.
