whole home dehumidifier

Can anyone recommend one? I have been looking at getting one installed to do the whole house. Is this a DIY or pro job?

I think Aprilaire gets the vote around here. I've installed a couple and one in my house and they work really well with minimal issues.
If you are a person with common sense, you can diy it yourself, not a hard job at all.
Make sure you do some research as to where and how to mount it. As easy as a job as it can be, I've seen some bad install pics of a few.

I also prefer to use an hvac thermostat to control the unit, as opposed to the humidistat that comes with the humidifier. You can configure the thermostat to call for humidity if needed without the furnace having to run.

Lennox sells them and has them made by Aprilaire. They have a dehumidistat built onto the unit itself. If you have a Lennox furnace system then they have a Lennox control or way to hook it up to some of their thermostats. Have not actually seen that but read about it on their site.
