Who to call - bad heil heat exchanger

My Heil furnace is 3 years old and today during a home inspection,
a CO sniffer over the vent detected small levels of CO. I assume the heat
exchanger may be bad. The company that installed the unit is out of business. Do I need to call a Heil dealer, or can most any HVAC dealer
replace the part under warranty?

"During a home inspection"? who was doing the inspection? CO detectors can be inaccurate like any other device, especially when they get old. I would call your gas utility and get them to come and check. They usually have very accurate instruments. 3 yr old heat exchangers do not usually fail. A Heil dealer would need to do the job.

Thanks, the Realtor also suggested calling the gas co. Home inspector
said the detector has only shown CO a couple of times before. Interesting
that he also got a reading upstairs though (differenct unit).

Good chance the CO was coming from some other appliance, or area.

Such as a car having bee run near the garage, while the door was open.

Gas range/oven not working right.

Water heater.

Go to goheil.com they have a dealer locater. Typically with Heil if you have a bad HE. you will trip the role out. But have it checked.
