Where's the water go?

I have a hot water heating system that isn't working very well. When I started it up this year I bled the air out twice. Now the system is low on water. Where does it go?

Add water to bring the level up for proper operation. Then if the water level starts to drop, check the system, every inch of piping, for a leak. For piping inside walls and ceilings, you'll have to rely on water stains to point out leaks.

Does the furnace have a firebox (combustion chamber) that is quite open and has an access door? Let the furnace cool down and take a look inside to check for moisture that could suggest a leak inside.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I just filled it up so we'll see what happens. I have access to all the piping and haven't found any evidence of a leak but I'll keep my eye out. Thanks again.

Is this a steam or hot water system?

It's a hot water system.
