What's the damage?

Hey all, got a question. I recently lost cold air, of course on the hottest freakin week! Well I opened up the unit and discovered that there's a small pin hole leak (r-22). Can this be sealed by a weld? If so, I was wondering about how much should I expect to pay to have this repaired and get a refill?
I live in So Cal if that helps any. Thanks guys.

So detailed!!

What "unit" did you open up and how did you determine where exactly the leak was?

Anything is Possible but is it worth it is the question. Answer: No, not at all.

New "unit."

Copper is easy enough to repair. I won't pull fins off an evap coil to braze because the condensation might blow off. Condensing coils are a bit more work but fixable. Only way to know how much it costs in your town is have somebody come out.
