What is your opinion on Goodman units?

I would not take a chance on that name. I seen more requests for help from owners of these systems then any other brand. Some of these units are installed by professionals and the rest by homeowners. Goodman will sell a complete system to a homeowner and chances are they will not install it correctly. I have seen comments also such as cheap construction and parts.
Although, it is not known of the many that malfunction, which were installed by professionals and which by homeowners. Even if by professionals, if the quality of materials is cheap, thats just trouble down the line.

As long as it is installed by a HVAC trained installer, and maintained properly it should give you years of uninterupted performance.

As long as the condenser coil doesn't develope leaks at the tube sheet. I have seen them working for years and changed out in just a few. I think they are hit or miss.
