what trips a roll out safety switch?

I have a Payne gas hot air furnace. Furnace cycles as it should ..fires up, blower motor and inducer?(to vent gasses) motor run. 1 or 2 minutes roll out switch trips. its a manual reset, so wait till everything cools down. Reset the switch, same thing happens. So could a dirty "A"evaporator coil be causing this and if so how can I clean it?

thanks,
Chris

Where exactly is this switch? Post a pic of it. If it is on the side of the ventor fan to the chimney then you may have a blocked chimney or dead bird in the pipe immediately above it (yes it happens).

a tripped roll out switch is an indication that the heat exchanger may have a crack.

what trips a roll out safety switch?

yuri,
That is exactly where its located. if pics load, they are from my phone using a flashlight for light.
but it it attached to a small box which is attached to the upsteam side of the fan that blows the gasses out of the combustion chamber

I make good $$ doing service calls and removing our feathered "friends". Usually they are the smaller variety, that was a real dumb one.

You can get bird proof chimney caps and make sure you at least have a basic one.

what trips a roll out safety switch?

no, it only cycled for a minute or 2, each time. its a pretty big area and detectors are on the other side....25 feet away located by the stairs.
but there is one(carbon monoxide and smoke) on each floor. our last house, the heat exchanger rusted thru and we had a carbon monoxide issue. so that won't happen again.
thank you for your concern,
chris
