What is Best for Joining Polyethylene Pipe Insulation?

What is the best product to use for joining several lenghts of Polyethylene pipe insulation? I have a long run of pipe in my attic with this insulation on it, and the cloth tape (duct tape) used by the installer has dried up and fallen off.

I would like to re-seal the joints between lengths of insulation (I don't need to wrap the entire length). Is there a glue that is commonly used for this, or a specific tape I can use that will not break down in the high-temperatures of the attic?

Would UL-181FX tape, used for AC duct work be appropriate for this?

Here is a sample photo of the pipe insulation I'm working with:

In the field, we use Armaflex 520 Black. In the shop, we'll use the aerosol version. I don't envy you. That's going to take some time up in an attic. The stuff has an odor, so keep the attic fan running.
