Question

Wet air filter

Our air filter is located below the air unit. It is a large Honeywell 25x16x5 filter type. The AC itself is a Lennox H626. When changing it out I noticed that it was wet. I can see condensation in the housing area and it drips under the house (pier and beam). There is a drip pan under the filter. I am assuming this is condensation from the cooler, but want to know if this is normal. The filter was pretty wet on one side. The AC has been running a good bit as it is already humid and hot here in central Texas already. Should I be concerned about this or is it a sign of a problem?

TIA

Wet air filter

The filter shouldn't be getting wet

some things to look at

1. Condensation drain plugged or restricted not allowing removal of water
2. System could be low on charge. Do you notice and ice forming on the large copper line either at the coil or at the condenser
3. This isn't easy to do but the drain pan on the coil may have a hole in it.
