Take a slow moving video of it with cell phone camera or digital camera. Post You tube link attachment as .wmv

Finally got a series of pics that definitely should show what you need. Maybe the pipes were set up wrong.

WBV/WV Peerless Steam Boiler is Thirsty!


Ok. You do have a Hartford loop.

Photo 4 shows a main air vent that looks like it doesn't stop venting. That will lose you water if it never stops venting.

Photo 7, looks like those pipes leak when they get cold, do they.

Photo 9. Looks like that 1 pipe has had leaks off and on.

I have never seen it vent, but it does look like a hunk of rust. What kind or brand of vent do I need? Is there a model number?

I don't know. I haven't seen them leaking, but I never paid attention. I'll make a point to check this out.

What would you recommend? I'm thinking that the suspect joints should be taken apart and reset with teflon tape. Should I replace the main vent or have it eliminated?

Hoffman #75 main vent.

May need to replace some of those fittings. Sometimes its easier to replace them, then clean them up and reuse them.
