Water from bottom of furnace????
Many "drips" to the floor and then running to basement drain.
Only happens when AC is running. After examining the whole setup, it seems to me that the ductwork leading from the furnace is "sweating" or "condensing" very heavily. The water is then leaking down the furnace to the floor. 1. Is this a possible/probable source of the water? 2. If so, how can I fix it? 2. Any other ideas greatly appreciated. TIA. |

Water from bottom of furnace????
Insulate the duct that is sweating with duct wrap that would stop the problem... I'm assuming your plenum / duct is much colder then the surrounding air temp and that the air in the area around the furnace / duct is much more humid... this woudl create condensation and the only ways really is to dehumidify the air in the room or to insulate the duct work

Water from bottom of furnace????
Thanks much.
Is "duct wrap" something that I can get at one of the big box stores? Last edited by fragonardium; 07-28-2010 at 05:15 PM. Reason: added picture |
