wall heater

hello guys i bought a wall heater at lowes and had a tech install it for me. it also has a thermostat. when it reaches the correct temp and shuts off but it doesnt come back on and requires a reset. he raised the vent pipe up higher and that didnt seem to help. if we take the cover off the heater it works ok. he says it burning too hot. the gas co is suposed to check the pressure coming in today. any ideas on this problem. thanks dave

Ah tech that doesn't have the ability to check incoming gas pressure???

You had the wrong guy install it.
Did he chek manifold pressure(the pressure that the gas valve has on its outlet side)?

How high is the vent now?
Is there any thing within 10" of it that is as high, or higher then it?

no he didnt check the p[ressure on either side of the valve. the gas co did come out and tell us it was a ventalation problem. i called another company and they came out and determined the vent pipe needed to be yet higher and that it needed something else done i didnt quite understand over the phone. i think it may be the connection between the heater with an oval opening and the vent pipe with a round opening. anyway he is sceduled to come do the repair tomorrow. thank you for the imput. im a phone man and not too well informed on heater stuff! have a good tuesday, dave
