Hi All, I was raised in a house with central air and went to college with window unit A/C's. Now that I have a home of my own I have a pair of in-wall AC units and am kind of lost on how to maintain, insulate, and care for them...
When fall is winding down, do I have to do anything with them? I know they sell covers, but the 1st floor AC is in a cage and the 2nd floor one is, well, on the 2nd floor
How can I insulate the sides better? I see some rigid foam insulation in one and the other seems to be a "perfect" fit. Do you silicone it it? How do you prevent air leakage from happening in the winter?
If they die, how do you replace them? Do you have to buy a AC the exact same size or can you get a smaller one and somehow insulate/seal the extra room?
