Venting Washroom to eaves vs roof

Venting the washroom exhaust fan to the eaves for me a diy is allot easier then venting thru the roof.

Is there any disadvantage to doing this? I only have 4 feet to go either way. I guess if the fan moves enough air, the discharge would clear the eaves...

Thx!

Venting Washroom to eaves vs roof

How is the soffit vented?

I have vented into a vented metal soffit with no problems. I have also vented into a well-vented attic with no problems.

Venting Washroom to eaves vs roof

Needs to be vented to the outside, never just into the attic as the other poster suggested, no exceptions!
Why not just vent it out the gable wall?
