Venting for NG direct vent fireplace in basement
 

I'm about to get quotes for a Napoleon Natural Gas direct vent fireplace for the basement. The venting that will be used is 5"/8" flexible. Will they be able to vent between the rim joists? The rim joists are 9 1/2" tall and spaced 16".

Will that be sufficent spacing for Ontario Canada, or will they have to go through the foundation wall?

The manual will tell you clearance to combustibles for that pipe typically 1"on sides and bottom and 3"on top. I would look into heat n glo fireplaces if they are available in your area

I had looked at the manual but missed that part. You were correct other then its 2" for sides and bottom while horizontal.

Why do you suggest heat n glo?

Been installing heat n glo for years, have installed many different brands and I like that brand best
