Venting for NG direct vent fireplace in basement
I'm about to get quotes for a Napoleon Natural Gas direct vent fireplace for the basement. The venting that will be used is 5"/8" flexible. Will they be able to vent between the rim joists? The rim joists are 9 1/2" tall and spaced 16".
Will that be sufficent spacing for Ontario Canada, or will they have to go through the foundation wall? Cheers |
The manual will tell you clearance to combustibles for that pipe typically 1"on sides and bottom and 3"on top. I would look into heat n glo fireplaces if they are available in your area

Thanks Heaty,
I had looked at the manual but missed that part. You were correct other then its 2" for sides and bottom while horizontal. Why do you suggest heat n glo? |
Been installing heat n glo for years, have installed many different brands and I like that brand best

Thanks for the info and suggestion. cheers
