Vent/Duct from addition ceiling to bedroom floor?

Hi, first post... sorry if I'm not using correct terminology.

My house is a old new england colonial with an addition on one side with a wood pellet stove installed in it. The addition has vaulted ceilings, with one wall running up along side where the master bedroom is on the 2nd floor (see photo).

My pellet stove does a great job heating the 1st floor, but not much for the 2nd floor.

I’m wondering if I can put a vent or duct to draw the hot air from the addition into the bedroom. I don’t have any existing ductwork in the house. I have forced hot water baseboards on the 1st floor, and electric baseboards on the 2nd.

To me it makes sense, but I want to make sure I'm not going against any codes. I have no HVAC experience, so this is all new to me.

Its really hard to imagine needing heat when so many are suffering from having too much of it right now. Don't know about codes, but as it is not at temperatures to be concerned for clearances, I would say that it would be a great idea for getting heat to where you need it, just remember that sound will also travel the same avenue.
