Variable Speed Trim CFM Adjust Mode

Goodman 5-ton AEPF Variable Speed Air Handler Dipswitches on page 5: http://www.ncweb.com/~jsbuilders/aept.pdf

I am interested in knowing whether or not I have the correct dipswitch 7 and 8 settings for Trim CFM Adjust Mode. The setting is and always has been set to ON-OFF which, "Increases selected Cool/Heat Pump airflow by 10%." Is this the proper setting for the winter season? Should it be set at normal airflow and what would be the dipswitch settings that would have no effect on set airflow? Would the dipswitch settings be OFF/OFF or ON/ON or does it matter?

Both on/on, and off/off have zero effect on blower speed.

No way to know from here if its set right for your system. Since that air handler is the one used on 3.5, 4, and 5 tons heat pumps. And you don't say whats its connected to.

Next, are you looking for efficiency, or comfort from the air setting.

The AEPF air handler is connected to a 5-ton heat pump and operates well in heating mode with dipwitches 7 & 8 set to ON/OFF (10% increase in airflow). How would zero effect on airflow affect the heating mode? Would it be more efficient this way?

not really.
Most of the 5 ton matches to that air handler, are only performance rated to 2025CFM.

An extra 200 CFM may not help more then bringing it out of defrost a few seconds sooner.
