I have 4 ton Goodman ac unit that is on it,s last legs. I have a 5 ton Trane unit without a matching A coil. Can I use the 4 ton Goodman A coil with the 5 ton unit?If so what precautions must be observed?

No. And you air handler probably can't move enough air for 5 tons of A/C. Good chance the 5 tons will be too big for your house also, and cause humidity issues.

I have a 5 ton blower on the furnace, blower was damaged in shipping and the only replacement available was one removed from a returned 5 ton setup

The Furnace is 100k BTU and ok for house, the Trane unit is 3 years old was removed from a place where building was being revamped, furnace keps place comfortable and bills are reasonable. 2 summers ago I had to install a hrad start on the ac compressor. I got the 5 ton unit for a very resonable price, however the A coil got away.

Sorry, don't believe it....All of these system components should be matched with the house and with each other... It's like "I got a great deal on a 454 chevy big block engine...why doesn't it work with my Honda civic???? I got 30mpg with the civic, but with the new 454 engine I am only gettin' 10mpg???

...but i turn the stat off at night and in the morning I crank it up to 70 from 55 degrees and it gets there within 10 minutes, must be working good ...
