Question

Upgraded Thermostat

I have upgraded from a SECO TA2000 to the Hunter 44860. It is my understanding that I have a single stage A/C system and a two stage heat system. I have the thermostat hooked up and seems to be working however the heat does not seem overwhelmingly hot. (not sure if this is normal should have checked it out prior to removing the existing thermostat) Anyway my question is about the Emergency heat terminal. On the old thermostat there was a terminal for "E" which according to my wiring diagram for the old thermostat is the Emergency Heat. There was no wire going to this terminal so I left out the Jumper from W2 to E on the new Hunter model. Will I need this to get the house warm in the winter?

Upgraded Thermostat

Did you ever get this resolved, I had a different issue, the heat would not come on at all. If I put the jumper between RC/R and RH, it seems that the AC compressor kicks on with the heat. I have the jumper from W2 to E for emergency heat.
