Unusual noise from light fixture

Hello, I have an unusual noise when AC is on. Sounds like dishes tapping each other. Slight sing song effect. Very low. Wife can't hear. I have extremely sensitive hearing. I have narrowed it down to a track light on a very high cathedral ceiling (about 30 ft up). The track light rail is about 6 ft long, has 3 canned lights. The unusual thing is the sound is only there when lights are off. If I turn lights on, the noise stops.
I don't believe there is a ballast to the lights.
The noise is slow coming on and going off.
I believe the heat generated by the lights have some effect on the noise. Like perhaps there is a loose bulb and as the heat causes the metal to expand, the noise is stopped and as the lights are turned off, the noise starts.
Any suggestions as to how I should start troubleshooting this problem.
The fixture is so high I won't go that high so I will have to hire someone to help me.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
Bill

Get a long pole even if you have to rig something up. Touch the bulbs one at a time when you hear the noise and try to isolate it. Could it just be a loose bulb? HD sells those light bulb changers on a pole that would help if you need to tighten or change the bulb.
