Troubleshoot Blower Motor - Lennox
I have a Lennox 80UHG-75 furnace that I am replacing the Ignition Control Board (32M88). The furnace was going through normal ignition and everything worked up until the fan motor was to kick on. The 2 LED's indicate no problems. The furnace stays on for a minute or so and then shuts down. I assume there is a delay timer and if the blower fan doest kick on it shuts the furnace down.

I opened the panel and found one of the fan relays burned on the back of the board so obviously it needs to be replaced.

Before I put the new board in is there a good test to determine if the capacitor or motor is the cause of the relay burning up or did it just fail on it's own?

The motor does turn free on it's own so at a minimum I know at this point it is not locked up.

No need to worry.......relays on printed circut boards fail all the time.....If you have a meter that can check microfareds then you can check the cap, the rating should be printed on the cap.

remember if you do replace the blower motor you should also replace the capacitor at the same time.
