I was wondering if some people have any tricks on installing 5" round HVAC pipe. I have a few end boots that are about 4 feet from the main trunk. Its impossible to cut a length to fit and squeeze it on. The only way i can almost get it is using an adjustable elbow and twist the elbow while moving the straight pipe.

Any tricks some may have for this?

Cut hole in ductwork trunk, insta 5" takeoff, measure piece of 5" pipe from takeoff to boot allowing the proper amount for the connection, cut the 5" pipe to size, remove boot completely put the whole assembly together and push boot back in place and nail or screw in secure. Install piece of perforated strapping in the middle of the assembly for pipe support.

PS: Keep the 5" pipe seam facing away from view, it looks more PRO.
