Trane X80 popping C/B

I have a Trane X80 furnce that continues to pop the C/B. I let it sit for a few minutes and reset the C/B the unit begins to heat up, the burners ignite but then the unit pops the C/B - the fan never kicks in. Any ideas on the most likely cause?
Thanks for your help

Sounds like a bad blower motor.

What exactly do you mean by "popping" the circuit board?

There are very few things on a furnace that are line voltage and would cause the circut breaker to pop.
From your discription it sounds like the main blower motor but I would replace the capsitor first as it is cheap and easy to do.If that won't work then you'll be replacing the motor I guess.

yes it sounds like you could have a direct short in motor just as it starts to come on,,,,check to see how long burnners are running before it trips....

It going to be bad motor for sure but need to pull back the board and look at the relays. Lot of times on that unit replays on the board burn up then take out the motor.

if you get a run in FAN/ON at the stat the lo/med lo winding might be shot...disconnect the motor plug then call it in again thru the heating

How do I check to see if the board is bad or the relays on it?

The unit has gotten worse. It won't even light up now. I turned the thermostat heat off and tried to turn the fan on. Nothing happens. It just has a very low hummming sound.
The light comes on one time and then stays out.

Thanks for all your help!
