Trane Heat Pump acting up..frozen (XR13)

Howdy all,

This morning I noticed that my heat pump coils were covered in frost, almost snow like. We did have first freeze overnight.

Unit is about 4 years old, Trane XR13.

Could be it be that the humidity in the air caused it to freeze over?

Or should I be looking at something more serious such as the defrost control going bad?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Not unusual for it to frost over.
Did it go into defrost day yet.
