trailer furnace on blocks in garage

I'm putting a trailer furnace, miller mod 80,in the garage.I want to use a block foundation to lift it up and vent it to the floor,do I need to close off the bottom of the furnace at the motor?Common sense tells me I should and cut some vents in the front of the body to vent the motor. Also,is it required to have a dampner,or vent the exhaust straight out ok??Does the length of the exhaust vent matter?? Thanx folks.

Use to use hollow cement blocks to do what your doing.
Unless it was not desirable to have teh air blowing out all 4 directions.

Make sure you have it high enough that the burner motor is 18" above the floor.

Yes, block off the bottom combustion air inlet, and cut a hole on the side of the jacket. Put a mesh screen over it.

Thanks buddy,I appreciate the comeback on the trlr furnace/garage/blocks,does the motor have to be 18" off the ground?Im limited on height, how about the ex vent,do I need a dampner? Can the ex vent go straight up or curve 90 out 90 up?I dont know if I need a dampner/flue whatever that vent/flap thingamajingy is technically called

Code for garage requires all sources of ignition to be a min of 18" above the floor.
Since a motor can spark, it is a source of ignition.

You should have no trouble if you ell over and then ell up.
Providing its not too far over.
You will want a barometric damper.
It will work without one, but a damper will help keep the flame lower in the combustion chamber, and burn a little cleaner.
