Tips On A/C Blower Troubleshooting?

I have a home a/c unit that is iced up and the blower isn't coming on. Well, maybe it's more like the blower isn't coming on so the unit iced up. Opening the windows doesn't help much since we're in the middle of a heat wave.

Any tips on troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Follow the wires back from the motor and see if the motor is getting voltage when it is set to come on. Check between the white and the other colors. Also look at the capacitor for bulges or oil leakage and the correct uf if you have a meter that will read capacitance.

Thanks Cjett. So far it appears to have been a loose electrical connection. I think it was where three wires came together in an under-sized wire nut. But just guessing there. ANyway, it's a lot cooler tonight.

Glad you got it going. It's hot in SW Ohio at present too so I know the feeling.

I'm having a similar problem. Although the blower runs on a heating cycle and when I switch to Cool it doesn't run. Any suggestions?

May be t.stat. When you turn to FAN ON you send the voltage straight to the board for high speed fan for cooling
