thermostat issues

i recently changed out my maple chase 09520 with a honeywell from the depot. it had connections for the red, green, yellow, white then i put the one in the o/b that finally got the air conditioner to blow cold. but the air conditioner isnt operating properly. when the air comes on the outside big fan in the unit dont come on and it dont blow out air like it is suppose to. i guess the air reverse valve isnt hooked up. this unit is an heatpump/ airpump. can i hook the C wire up to Y also can the other redish brown wire to the o/b. or do i have the wrong tstat. should i try another maple chase to get it to opperate. i just dont really know and dont wanna to fry a transformer..

thermostat issues

im sorry i just posted that it was the air that isnt coming on correctly, no its the heat the pump dont seem to come on the fan/blower comes on and it takes alot more time to heat up. before the unit would come on outside afew minutes then it would blow out the big puff of steam/ hot air. now it just comes on small fan or blower or whatever it is and must be heating coils. it aint working as it should. where does that other brownish red wire go n where does the C wire go, the honeywell manual says not to hook it up, just cap it off.

What model thermostat is the honeywell? What are the make and model of your equipment? What connections/wire colors was the old thermostat setup as?
