Our boiler provides heat and hot water. If I turn off the thermostat to kill heat in warm weather, will the boiler also stop providing domestic hot water?

Laugh all you want, I can take it. Thanks.

Did you have hot water last year when you did that?

No it won't as it has a temp control for the hot water tank to turn on the burner and circ pump for the tank. Have not seen one as we don't have them here but that must be the way they work. Stay tuned for the guys who have seen them.

No , if the water heater has an aquastat that will bring on the boiler for hot water.Just don't throw the circut breaker to off as then you will be taking cold showers.

Boilers with tankless coils or indirect water heaters are set up to provide hot water weather or not its the heating season. And the thermostat has no control over it making hot water.

Your water heater is essentially another zone in your house so as long as that zone calls for heat the boiler will provide same as any other zone

the boiler is it steam and or hot water with a circ pump?it maintains the hot water to a usable temp for the showers and sinks, but not to heat the house.might notice the water is hotter in the winter then the summer...that is the controller that runs the domestic water heating cycle within the boiler
