Question

is there a trick to twist fitting type B vents

when done by a single person?? because when i twist and click one end, i undo the other. it is very annoying. i tried gorilla taping the already done joints but that's kindof high maintenance as well and works with varying degree of success.

it is possible to have two people do it but that is impractical because i am working in a tight area under the ceiling and it is hard to reach. i also have only one step ladder. with 6" vents, it is really hard to twist with one hand while holding the other vent with the other because you need more grip and need to use both hands.

so i was wondering if there are any tricks to doing it. it is very frustrating to twist one on just to discover the other end was untwisted by doing so...

What brand are you using? Shouldn't need to use screws. If you do don't penetrate the inner liner as it will ruin the integrety of the double wall.
