Is there a sealant or resin for Fiberboard?

Is there a sealant or resin for Fiberboard that I can use to hold down the fibers. I have to replace a damaged section fiberboard in my system. I bought the fiberboard and see how the fibers come off so I want to see if I can put a sealant or resin on it to hold them down so I won't inhale them when I turn the system on.

Just use silver tape on backside.

Not sure if we're on the same page. I want to put something on the side where the fiberglass is not on the side with the aluminum

This is one reason why I don't and will never use ductboard. What a stupid idea that crap is. Duct for dummies, all you need is a razor knife, metal tape and some home depot workers and you're ready to do some ductwork! Just dont bump into it... Sorry had to rant on this. Water based duct mastic would seal the fibers in but at $15-$25 per bucket it could get expensive depending on how much area you need to cover

Where did you buy fiber board? I've got some mold in mine and was thinking of just spraying it with Kilz primer. I would replace it if I could find fiber board.
