Themostat trim piece

The thermostat I replaced is smaller than the original. Therefore, the wallpaper doesn't cover fully cover the area surrounding the new thermostat. Do they make a base plate to cover this? Almost like a trim piece. What is this product called?

If it's Honeywell or White Rodgers they do have them.

If not get a small piece of plastic about one and and half longer and wider than the stat.
Should be available at a local HD or Lowes. Can only find pieces too large?
Get the smallest of the large pieces you can. Use a metal rule to measure and score to size with a sharp implement.

Get clear plastic if you cant match stat color. Paint it the color of the stat
or go here

It's a Honeywell Visionpro. Does Home Depot or Lowes sell them, or do I need to purchase one online? I also have a Johnstone and Baker Bros. in my area.

I think it's the Honeywell 50002883-001 backplate. I get them at Johnson Supply, but I'm sure that Johnstone has them as well. I use them on the TH60o0 series and the TH5000 series.
Not sure that it supports the TH8000 series. The measurements seem to indicate that it would, but nothing on any site verifies this.
  • Includes 2 cover plates that can be mounted directly on a standard junction box
  • Covers marks on wall or when new thermostat does not completely cover old thermostat wall imprint
  • Medium Cover Plate 5 in. high, 6 7/8 in. wide. Large Cover Plate 6 in. high, 8 5/16 in. wide.
  • Color premier white

Thanks Houston204,

I found a plate that works with the honewell visionpro. I'll see if Johnstone carries it. If not, I'll purchase the one you recommended. I should be able to make it work. It looks like the difference is the hole placement.
