temp. control problem

furnace seems to drop in temp. when I reset temp. rises back to setting
I have a concord furnace, it is about 6 years old

Does that mean your stat calls for heat but the furnace doesn't come on. Until you turn the stat down and then back up?

yes, but it takes some time for the pilot to light

The anticipator in the thermostat may be set to the wrong milliamp setting. Is it pilot ignition or Hot surface?

jim360 02-13-2010 01:17 PM

I believe it is hot surface

do you think it could be the hot surface ignitor, if so which one do you recommend. the carbide or nitride

Its probably not the HSI.
What brand and model is the thermostat, and furnace.

jim360 02-14-2010 07:56 PM

temp.

the stat. is a honywell and the furnace is a concord(2004)90% eff.
getting fault that reads: lock-out due to no ignition-7 flashes

Honeywell makes more then 500 different thermostats. So what model number is yours.

Could be a pressure switch, or flame sensor.

Now if its a model, for get it. Your concord probably isn't that model.

Check your flue/chimney for restrictions.
check hose to pressure switch for moisture in it.
